EMPTY THE CAN.
Remove any remaining pouches and empty the used-pouch compartment in the lid. Brush away loose debris.
A good can is meant to stick around. Here's how to keep yours looking fresh without making a whole production out of it.
No specialized kit required. A soft cloth, a little water, and a few minutes are usually all you need.
Remove any remaining pouches and empty the used-pouch compartment in the lid. Brush away loose debris.
Clean inside and out with a soft, slightly damp cloth. For stubborn residue, use a small amount of mild dish soap on the cloth.
Wipe around the lid, edges, and knurling. A clean, soft-bristled brush can help with debris in the grooves. Avoid scraping tools.
Remove any soap residue with another lightly damp cloth, then dry completely before putting pouches back inside or closing the lid.
A couple of small details make a difference over time.
Keep the seal and its groove clear of dust, residue, and trapped moisture. Make sure it sits evenly before closing. Don't stretch, pick at, or force a twisted O-ring into place.
An O-ring does not make the can guaranteed waterproof. Avoid immersion.
Avoid rough surfaces and abrasive cleaning products that can scratch or dull the colored finish. Wipe off grit before rubbing the exterior, and don't use metal polish.
Regular handling may leave normal signs of wear over time.
Clean custom engraving using the same soft-cloth method. Skip stiff brushes and scrubbing directly over engraved details; a gentle wipe is all you should need.
Avoid trying to recolor, buff, or chemically treat the engraving.
Wipe the integrated bottle opener after use and dry it thoroughly. Empty the separate used-pouch compartment regularly instead of letting residue build up.
The bottom bottle opener is an accessory, not a reason to abuse the can.
Because nobody wants to read an instruction manual the size of a swamp.
